Helping couples and individuals with relationship and sexual difficulties

I have been working as a therapist for nearly 20 years and have focussed on working with couples and individuals with relationship and sexual problems. I have been working in private practice in Leamington Spa for the past 10 years and represent Relate as a member of their media team.

Having completed my Relate training in couple counselling and psychosexual therapy I have continued my ongoing professional development with specific training in sexual addiction, families and adolescence, neuropsychology and spirituality. My original training was in psychodynamic theories but increasingly I work with cognitive behavioural and systemic techniques.

Ultimately the goal of therapy is to help the client develop a deeper insight into their difficulties and explore the choices and the skills required for change. In couple work, communication is key, both for learning to negotiate through differences and also for managing conflict in a healthy way. I am an accredited member of BACP and COSRT and a registered Sexual & Relationship Psychotherapist with UKCP. I am also a founder trustee of ATSAC.

Sex Addiction Treatment

I have been specialising in the field of sex addiction for 10 years and have trained with Thaddeus Birchard in the UK and Patrick Carnes in the US. I am a founder member of ATSAC (Association for the Treatment of Sex Addiction and Compulsivity) and train on the UK’s first Professional Certificate in Sex Addiction Treatment. I also write extensively on the subject and deliver lectures and workshops around the UK as well as providing supervision for other sex addiction therapists.
